The hotel was very nice and the staff also. However the location was very close to the main road, so the traffic noise was rather loud at times.

One of the main reasons we chose Zazen for our stay in Koh Samui is because of its smaller size and more intimate feel. All of the staff are excellent including the Spa where a wonderful range of options are available. The restaurant is 1st class and ably run by Exec Chef Mattias who takes the time talk to guests each day. Wine selection is amazing but could be a bit pricey for some. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow which was great but has a bed on a raised platform which may not suit some eg. older guests. Some people did not appreciate the early morning starts by the neighbouring fishermens boats but it did not bother us and added to the charm. The beach is good, swimming is good and not too many people stroll past as its at one end of Bophut Beach. A few hawkers but not an issue. A great place to stay, unwind and be pampered! I Iove everything about this place. The setting, the staff, the beach, the bungalows, the spa, breakfast and lunch (didn t have an evening meal). Only down side is the pool is small, even so, it s enough. Perfect place to totally relax. I hope to return next year.

Wasn t sure about using site as I had never heard of sawadee. There was 1 issue, easily sorted. Will use sawadee again without hesitation.

This is a hotel for middle aged fat foodies. Apart from the restaurant, which is above average for the island, the rest of the hotel was a disappointment. The rooms are cabin style, crammed in and often staring straight into the rooms opposite which,with all glass door fronts, is unsettling. The open air bathrooms appear nice but attract mosquitos which plague the place. Additionally, the bathroom doors must be locked at night to inhibit intruders which, given the uncomforatble beds are on platforms with steps down, makes for a clumsy and potentially damaging excursion to the toilet in the middle of the night! The French restaurant managers are charming as are the maids, but the waitresses need some serious training. All in all, of the many 5* hotels I have stayed in in Samui, this is the worst in every aspect other than the restaurant. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Perfect holiday. Zazen was a wonderful resort, peaceful and in a perfect location. The staff were always smiling and very helpful and warm. I highly recommend this resort to anyone considering a relaxing stay in Koh Samui.

This boutique hotel is wonderful. The garden rooms are good but the waterfront rooms are magical - well worth the difference in cost. However, what makes this hotel different is the service and the food. Bt far, the best restaurant in Samui. It truly deserves a michelin star! The only probelm is that if you are going for a weekend, you must make reservations before you arrive.

we thought that at Baht 10100 per night the room was way over priced and the bed was difficult to access. On the upside the staff were excellent but the general beach area was below the standard that we would expect from an expensive hotel and the adjacent beach was a mess

Hotel was fantastic! They are having some work done currently on their restaurants and kitchens which should even further improve your experience. The staff couldnt be any more helpful or kind. The only slight down side is a quite small pool, in every other respect it was heaven.

The hotel is fantastic, the staff was kind, helpful and very attentive, and that all made our stay at the Zazen wonderful. I loved the food and the massage at the spa was superb. The only negative remark is about the beach which is small and the water is not clean. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

This is a very comfortable hotel, if a bit over priced. The setting is beautiful in lovely gardens. The beach is very small but has nice sunbeds, however when a wedding was taking place the rest of the residents were squashed onto a miniscule bit of beach and the lounge bar was out of bounds as part of the reception was being held there, with no compensation to the other guests. The staff were delightful and VERY helpful when my husband was ill and the restaurant manager, Diego, produced simple bland meals for him which had been requested by the hospital. Zazen is an experience, a concept of beauty and relaxation. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and felt treated like a king and a queen by the staff. The surrounding is fantastic, the restaurant looks lovely and the food created by chef Wally is excellent; you really have to trie. We we re pleasently surprised to see all the effort that was made to make our room special for our honeymoon. Two beautifull swanns surrounded by a heart made out of orchids. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, everything is reconsidered carefully. Just go there!!! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

The hotel is very nice ,the beachfront villas are at only 2 steps from the sea ,with great views and very reasonnable price .The room is well furnished .The restaurant is good ,the western menu is way better than the thai menu which is only ok ,but the restaurant is pricey ,I think there is better restaurant at this price at bophut or chaweng beach . The staff is very helpful. I would recommended this hotel which is really a good value althought the restaurant is not as better as what the other reviews said .We were a bit desapointed by the beach too, the sand is a kind of yellow color and not really white .So the water isn t very clear .The chaweng beach is better ,but there is much more hotel and people too ,whereas the bophut beach is more peacefull L hotel est un excellent rapport qualité prix ,les bungalows beachfront sont à 2 pas de la mer ,avec une vue superbe ,pour un prix très raisonnable !De plus les chambres sont vraiment confortables et bien équipées ( écrna plasma ,ipod ,lit et mobilier de bonne qualité ) Le staff est sympa et parle bien anglais . Cependant nous avions été plutôt déçu par le restaurant ,qui est cher ,et qui n est pas si bon que cela .Pour le prix ,je dirai que la nourriture est juste ok .Vous trouverez de la cuisine vraiment haut de gamme à ce prix dans d autres restaurants ,ou moins cher . De meme la plage de bophut n est pas top, le sable est plutôt jaune que blanc et n est pas très fin et du coup l eau peut etre assez trouble, on ne voit pas toujours le fond ,comme c est le cas avec du sable très clair et fin . Le plage de chaweng est bien plus belle mais beaucoup moins reposant aussi ,car à bophut on est tranquille il n y a pas beaucoup de touristes et de frequentations . [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]
